What You Can Expect From Us
Understanding
We meet with prospective clients to learn about their needs, hopes and desires to understand the scope and complexities in a potential engagement. We want to ensure we can create and deliver appreciable and transformative value and excel in the engagement. We underwrite and commit our firm capital and resources to long-term client relationships with mutually desirable relationship qualities.
Core Values
We look for and work hard to offer these personal qualities in all our client relationships ‒ candor, honesty, respect, commitment, reason, mutual care, collaboration, team play, direction and motivation. We value the principle of win-win. Our firm is purpose-built to help us focus our time, talents, efforts and resources where we can create the best results and do the greatest good.
Commitment
We bring deep experience and core competencies that match up well with families and individuals who seek breadth and depth-of-field, skill, competence, care, creative vision and sound execution from wealth management professionals who are in it for the long-haul. To protect availability of our time and resources for the benefit of our full-time clients, we do not offer our services for projects or partial engagements.
Preparation and Planning
We provide a skilled and prepared leadership team that combines critical thinking with studies and analyses to help unmask and avoid the camouflaging distractions, classic pitfalls and less obvious risks that trap that many families and individuals and prevent them from focusing on what needs to get done to stay on plan and accomplish their goals.
Duty, Loyalty and Care
We serve all clients with a fiduciary duty of loyalty and care to put clients first and seek to avoid, minimize and disclose conflicts of interest. Each Chief Client Wealth Officer is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and Intelligent Capitalworks is CEFEX Certified to a Global Fiduciary Standard by annual examination.
Regulatory Compliance
Our firm is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a Registered Investment Adviser with authority to conduct business nationally. We currently serve clients in 13 states plus the District of Columbia. We are regulated by the SEC, U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Implementation and Follow-Through
We offer more than 100 “time and resource” intensive professional services to help address the continuous and complex wealth management needs of our clients. We serve as a dedicated wealth advisor to help meet our clients’ wealth management needs in deeper, more focused and more helpful relationships.
Portfolios Tailored to Your Needs
We manage well-diversified long-term investment portfolios of individual securities in separately-managed accounts tailored for each client. We invest for a combination of capital conservation, stable and rising income, capital growth, managed volatility, tax efficiency and cost control.
Due Diligence
We vet prospective clients just as assiduously as we are vetted by prospective clients. We think just as carefully about committing our family’s capital to a potential engagement as prospective clients think about entrusting their family capital to us. It’s equally important for us to determine that each client is a good fit for us and our other clients.

What We Will Need From You
Investable Assets
We offer our wealth advisory and investment management services for families and individuals with investable assets starting at $5 million across all accounts, including investment, trust, business, retirement and philanthropic accounts. Our services, advanced skillsets and firm resources support client engagements for clients who desire and seek to accumulate, grow, conserve and protect their wealth. We may negotiate this amount depending on a variety of factors.
Commitment
In order avoid conflicts of interest with our full-time dedicated clients, and to preserve and maintain our responsiveness and the availability of our firm’s resources for our full-time dedicated clients, we do not accept partial engagements, trial engagements or project, hourly or second-opinion work. This permits us to grow with selective new client engagements and ensure we have ample staffing and resources without disadvantaging our existing clients.
Responsiveness and Access
We need you to be available to respond to our requests for documents, calls and meetings and to be proficient with email, scanning and electronic document signature. We also need you to allow us to connect your accounts with our wealth management technology platforms to enable and support our services and allow us to collaborate with your other advisors ‒ CPAs, attorneys, trustees, insurance agents, etc.
Participation and Organization
We need full participation from you and your spouse or partner and other involved stakeholders. This will help you to establish a chain of command in the event something happens to you or both of you. We need you to ask questions and be sure you understand and are comfortable with the answers. We need you to be responsible to promptly review, organize and maintain the accessibility of the documentation of your financial life.
Data Collection
We will need to collect copies of many different types of documents from you – account statements, employee benefit and Social Security statements, insurance policies, beneficiary designations, wills, trusts, legal powers and other legal documents, title policies, personal and family information. We will need to meet with you in multiple meetings to learn about your history, aspirations, fears, goals, objectives, investment history and previous advisor experiences.
Information Accuracy
We expect to be able to rely upon the accuracy of all information and documents we receive from you and other stakeholders and your accountant, attorney and other professional advisors. We will not verify the accuracy of the information we collect from you and provided by your other advisors and stakeholders.
Communication
We need you to promptly notify us of any material changes in your financial circumstances, such as changes in your: goals, objectives, cash needs and tolerance for risk (price volatility); assets, liabilities, income, expenses and tax exposures; insurance coverages; your personal circumstances, and any other matters which may bear upon your accounts, including major changes that may affect any of the above.
Client Cybersecurity and Technology
We expect clients to be able to receive and send secure email correspondence, be capable with two-factor secure access authentication and follow our cybersecurity policies and procedures. We expect clients to maintain current versions of their computer operating software with updated security patches and commercially available cybersecurity protections.
Tax Professional and Legal Counsel
We require clients to use accounting and legal professionals to prepare their tax returns and legal documents. Nothing in our work product is appropriate as, nor intended as, a substitute for the necessary accounting, legal, insurance, actuarial or tax counsel or representation on such matters. Clients should discuss any legal, accounting, insurance, actuarial or tax issues with their legal, accounting, insurance, actuarial and tax advisors.
